KUALA LUMPUR: Former Immigration Department director-general Datuk Wahid Md Don has been acquitted by the Sessions Court here of bribery.

Judge Rosbiahanin Arifin ruled that the prosecution had failed to establish a prima facie case.

Wahid, 58, was alleged to have accepted RM60,000 as bribe from businessman Datuk Low Chang Hian as party payment to expedite the approval of visa applications for 4,337 Bangladeshis to enable them to enter Malaysia.
